New Publication in the Proceedings of the ACM on Human-Computer Interaction

  • Date: 12.05.2025
  • The paper "TESY: A Usability Test-Driven Prototyping Assistant Connecting Designers with Crowd-Testers" has been published in the Proceedings of the ACM on HCI.  The paper will be presented at the ACM Conference on Computer-Supported Cooperative Work and Social Computing (CSCW). The conference is the premier venue for research in the design and use of technologies that affect groups, organizations, communities, and networks.

The paper introduces TESY, a plug-in for the prototyping tool Figma that integrates usability test specification and test data directly into the prototyping process, helping designers translate feedback into actionable design improvements. A controlled lab study with 34 untrained designers shows that TESY enables more data-driven and task-focused GUI enhancements by tightly linking usability test results to prototype development. The paper is co-authored by Felix Kretzer and Alexander Maedche from the human-centered systems lab.

The paper is Open Access and available in the ACM library:  https://dl.acm.org/doi/10.1145/3711082
