A large part of the potential for AI applications remains untapped – as data is distributed across different organizations.

But there is hope… - (now Dr.) Marcel Fassnacht today very successfully defended his thesis on “Inter-Organizational Data Sharing: Concept, Organizational Readiness, and Data Ecosystem Design” at Karlsruher Institut für Technologie (KIT).

He analyzes data sharing as a concept (different types, potential advantages and barriers to implementation) and provides support for organizations and larger ecosystems to design, choose, and implement data sharing solutions. Thus, he has built a remarkable compendium of data sharing that hopefully will receive appropriate attention in academia and practice.
